Switchable VHF/UHF dual band
The ID-E880 provides VHF/UHF
dual band capabilities (one band at a time) via a simple band switching
system. Wideband receiver
The ID-E880 has a wideband
receiver as a standard feature and covers 0.495-999.99MHz*. Listen to
aviation, marine, weather channels and other utility communications.
*Receiver range depending on versions. See specification page. CS-80/880 free download cloning software
The CS/880 free download cloning software is available from the Icom Inc
(Japan) web site. Used with this software, various settings can be made from
a PC and the memory channels and other settings can be shared between
IC-E80D and its matching mobile unit, the
ID-E880. Please download from
http://www.icom.co.jp/world/support/download/firm/. *Either
OPC-1529R, OPC-478 or OPC-478UC optional cable is required. 1052 memory channels
The ID-E880 has a total of 1052
memory channels (including 1000 regular channels, 50 scan edges and 2 call
channels) with 26 memory banks. All memory channels and the program scan can
be named with 8-character channel comments. Also each memory bank can be
named with a up-to 6-character bank name comment.
When the optional UT-123 Digital/GPS unit is installed the
IC-E2820 advanced mobile is capable of both D-STAR Digital Voice and GPS
operation. The IC-E2820's GPS features include; position information exchange,
plotting your position onto mapping software on a PC.
Advanced features; D-STAR Digital Voice facilities and GPS functionality take
the ICE2820 into a new realm of Amateur radio communications.
VHF/VHF, UHF/UHF simultaneous receive capability
New diversity receive capability. *Two antennas are required.
Large, attractive full dot-matrix display
50W output power (VHF/UHF bands)
New DV mode + GPS receiver (with optional UT-123)
522 memory channels
Built-in wide band receiver
Separated controller from main unit
HM-133 remote control microphone as standard
9600bps data terminal
2 Year Warranty on transceiver
Built-in wide band receiver
In addition to the VHF/VHF, UHF/UHF dual band capabilities, the IC-E2820 has a
wideband receiver which covers 118–549.995 and 810–999.990MHz. This means you
can listen to various communications in your vehicle or shack. The IC-E2820 has
high speed scan capability of 45-channel/sec. (in program scanning mode). This
allows you to scan quickly when searching a wide frequency range.
Diversity receive capability
Diversity receive* mode is useful for mobile operation where the received signal
strength changes continuously. It compares the signal strength and chooses the
antenna with the better signal to maintain good sound and receive quality.
* Two antennas are required. 127, 136, 146, 375, 440, 500MHz band in
FM/FM-N/DV mode only. Diversity reception is not available while using the
dualwatch.
The ID-1 can operate in both Digital Voice and Digital Data Mode as well as
conventionally with current analogue 1.2GHz repeaters. The ID-1 has an operating
frequency range of 1240-1300 MHz, with FM and GMSK (Digital) modulation formats
providing clear voice and high-speed data transmission (128kbps). The D-STAR
digital repeater system allows you to relay the digital voice and data offering
long distance communication capability through multiple repeater links and/or an
Internet gateway relay.
PC Remote Controller Supplied The controller
software is supplied with the ID-1. When the ID-1 is connected to a PC via a USB
cable, most functions of the ID-1 can be controlled from the PC. In Digital Data
mode operation, you can browse web sites and send and receive e-mail as if the
ID-1 is a 10W wireless network adapter. * Ethernet port is required for Digital
Data mode operation.
* Service may not be provided at repeater site.
Short message in DV mode Short messages of 20 characters max.
can be sent in Digital Voice mode operation.
Useful Callsign Function The ID-1 has useful callsign function
that embeds your own and the called station’s callsign in your transmission.
When you input “CQCQCQ” as the intended station, you can make a CQ call in the
area. The calling station’s ID is displayed on the received station and a newly
received callsign can be automatically stored in the memory.
Digital Callsign Squelch (DSQL) & Digital Code Squelch (CSQL)
The DSQL opens the squelch, only when your callsign is received. When you share
a single callsign with a club or group members, the CSQL function allows you to
set a CSQL code from 00 to 99 and provides quiet stand-by while other members
are talking.
EMR Mode Operation When you require the attention of all
stations in the area, the Enhanced Monitor Request (EMR) mode operation allows
the caller to bypass the CSQL and DSQL setting of the receivers station. During
EMR mode operation, all receiving stations will hear your audio, even though
they may be muted.
Analogue FM Mode Operation The ID-1 also operates in analogue
FM mode, allowing you to communicate with an analogue FM transceiver. In FM mode
operation, the ID-1 has CTCSS tone squelch for quiet stand-by.

extensive memory system includes 200 regular memories, ten pairs of band-limit
memories, 8 memory banks, and a one-touch "Home" channel. Memory channels store
repeater offset information, as well as CTCSS or DCS data, and can have a
six-character label appended, for quick channel recognition. And the memories
may be allocated into as many as eight memory banks, for more efficient
scanning.
Programmable Four user-programmable "soft" keys are provided on
the MH-48a6j microphone, allowing you to bring often-used Menu items, or front
panel key functions, to your fingertips.
Built-in CTCSS and DCS Encoder/Decoder Circuits The FT-1900E
includes both CTCSS and DCS Encoder/Decoder circuitry, with Reverse CTCSS
Decoding also available, to mute your receiver when a particular tone is
received (instead of opening your squelch). And you can encode CTCSS and decode
DCS, or vice versa, too, if your application requires it.
Adjustable Mic Gain and Wide/Narrow Deviation and RX Bandwidth
The microphone gain for the FT-1900R's transmitter is adjustable, so you can
optimize it for your voice level as well as background noise in your operating
location. And for operation in crowded channel environments, the TX deviation
and RX bandwidth may both be reduced via the Menu.
Automatic Repeater Shift (ARS), Automatic Power-Off (APO), and BCLO
(Busy Channel Lock-Out)
ARS: Automatically selects the typical repeater shift used in your country,
based on the current operating frequency.
APO: Automatically turns power off after a user-defined time period, to prevent
you from running down your car battery if you forget to turn your rig off.
BCLO: Prevents you from transmitting on an occupied frequency (especially
valuable during Tone Squelch or DCS operation).
CW Trainer You can practice your Morse Code recognition, using
this novel trainer that sends you five-character code groups, with variable
speed and instant feedback as to the correct characters sent to you.
Security Password to Prevent Unauthorized Use A defeatable (by
the owner) Security Password system is provided for the FT-1900E, so you can
limit operational access to yourself and any other users (if any) informed of
the password for the transceiver.
